Reel Vision Documentaries

Reel Vision participants were asked to create documentaries about issues that they thought were relevant to their community. Students worked both individually and collaboratively. Students were asked to choose one of the following themes.

  1. Positive Stories
  2. Community Issues
  3. Countering Stereotypes

To initiate a dialogue, they were asked to following questions:

  • Why do other people in the community need to know about these issues?
  • Who is your target audience?
  • What your the strategy to explain the subject?
  • Where will you shoot the documentary?
  • Who will be featured in your documentary?
  • What elements will you use to supplement the video, such as narration, music, text?
