Reel Vision: Inspiring Young Filmmakers
A behind the scenes look at the process and impact of Reel Vision.
Created by Carrie Polansky, 2005 fall intern
For
three months this fall, high school students from Chelsea explored cinematography
techniques while directing their own film projects using digital video
and computer technology. Meeting twice a week at Roca, a community center
in Chelsea, participants leveled tripods, set-up microphones and adjusted
manual camera settings. Through collaboration with other students, Reel
Vision teens are developed documentaries and public service announcements
on issues facing their community. By researching, conducting interviews
and editing materials, they learn to tell meaningful stories. View
the film.
